Few years back in 2012 lot of webmasters complained about unknown traffic all coming from china for no reason or any site change, The internet was filled with queries regarding it.
Now after 3 years later a new internet weapon named ' Great Canon ' is widely suspected to be developed by China to initiate attacks on various websites on the internet like Github, Great Fire, Baidu and Amazon which costed them a lot and putting users secured information in the wrong hands.
Citizen lab a security lab of University of Toronto analyzed all the attacks that were similar and came to result that were shocking, A new tool named ' Great Canon ' was used to intercept all the data and redirect the website to other link or site.
Baidu the major china's web search engine was hijacked too!!. The reason behind this attacks are being analyzed and with new studies are being done to finally prepare a report.
Motive or Reason behind the attack by Great canon is yet a mystery and mostly security officials will be digging out information . If China is found to be the attacker than consequences can be devastating and major websites might block China traffic decreasing their traffic putting security on top.
