Flipkart after facing a huge controversy over the Net Neutrality Issue in India has disapproved its plan on working with Airtel Zero Platform.
Airtel Zero platform was announced by Airtel on April 6, 2015 stating that it will make some apps eg- Flipkart etc totally free and will cost them not even a single penny . This was totally in accordance to what TRAI posted up on their website and looked like these companies were ready to make profit until AIB launched their video to save the Internet.
Flipkart received huge criticism over the use of Airtel Zero platform for which they had already tied up, lots of debates, tweets, posts all made Flipkart finally submit and they officially stated that they will discontinue the plan of Airtel Zero.
Flipkart agreed with the issue of Net Neutrality in India and said to be in favor of it. It would had become much harder for other companies like Amazon India, Shopclues and other e-commerce websites if Flipkart was more preferred by Airtel as nobody will open other site wasting their MB if everything comes for Rs 0 .
