5 Reasons Indians love to watch Cricket

We Indians do not watch cricket, we worship it. For most of us Indians, cricket is like any other religion and its players our god. Our whole day goes bad if our team loses a match. And we party like a maniac if we win. So here are some reasons we love cricket for...

huge crowd cheering for India

  1. Cricket Unites Us : One of the most obvious reasons for us Indians is that, Cricket unites us. When there is a match India plays we all sit down together be it friends, family or even strangers and watch our representatives play our favorite game of cricket. At least somewhere we show unity.
  2. Indians Love Fireworks : We Indians spend thousands on Diwali to buy fireworks but here its our love for the shots, the sixes the fours we call fireworks. We jump when there is a six or  a boundary. When Yuvraj hit those lovely 6 sixes I can bet every Indian cherished the site of those fireworks.
  3. We are good at it : Well one of the finer reasons is the skill we have for the game. It is not just love but we Indians are great at it. Being a past colony of British we have mastered the game. Every little kid knows all the rules and can always spare an advice or two for the Indian players.
  4. Thrilling Endings : One thing we all Indians love is the last minute thrill. And in cricket we get quite a lot of it. The winning team sometimes loses in the last over. Or the losing team starts winning all of a sudden. With such a fluctuating graph it keep us Indians sit on the end of  the chair waiting for some miracle to happen.
  5. Winning World Cups : When Kapil Dev got us the cup in 1983 there was not a single Indian fan who did not cherish the moment. We celebrated as if we got independence once again. The history repeat itself when the Indian team did the same on home ground. We started worshipping the team and the players.

With IPL in the buzz, we do relate to the above reasons and with full heart support the teams we love and can go to any extent for the game.
