Deepika Padukone is working in Shoojit Sircar's next film also staring Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan. A part of their shooting was done at Varanasi for almost two weeks. Deepika enjoyed a lot at Varanasi by taking some time out from the shoot.
"The moment she was done with the shoot for a day, she went to explore the city and sometimes even Irrfan Khan joined her ", source from the set said. She covered the temples and famous ghats of the city known to be as "City of Gods". She even tasted the local food of the city as well as went to the local market and purchased trinkets & souvenirs for her friends in Mumbai.
When she was asked about the experience, she answered, "It was a spiritual experience at Varanasi ".
It was her first visit to Varanasi which turned out to be very peaceful experience. She didn't missed a chance to get down to the streets of Varanasi. "We had to shift our location and the crew members suggested it would be better to stay inside the car but Irfan and I wanted to walk as it happens very rare that we actors get an opportunity to walk down the streets. It was five to seven minutes walk which completed with a chai from a roadside shop", she added.
