UPSC announces Civil services 2014 mains results


Student coming out after giving the Civil services exams

The much awaited results of civil services (mains) exams were announced by the UPSC. The exams were held from 14 to 20 December.The result qualifies the candidates for the personality test which is likely to commence from 27 April,2015 and will be the deciding factor for the selection to Indian Administrative services,Indian Foreign services,Indian police service and other Central services(Group 'A' and 'B'). Personality tests are likely to be held in the office of UPSC at Dholpur house,Shahjahan road,New Delhi-110069.A list carrying role numbers of successful candidates have been put up on UPSC's website-www.upsc.gov.in.

The delay in the results were due to a pending outcome of a review filed in supreme court by the center seeking to review its petition that scrapped reservation of the Jat community.
The Supreme court had on March 17,set aside the decision to accord Jat community in the Other Backward Classes(OBC) category and provide them the benefits of quota as suggested by the former UPA regime.The center had moved to the apex court on March 1 seeking to review its Decision

Thousands of students appeared for the civil services (mains) examination which are annually conducted by UPSC in 3 stages-Preliminary,Mains and Interview.
